Turn your feeds into a newsletter

An email digest is a scheduled email built from what Inoreader collects. Give it a subject, a logo and a schedule, and Inoreader assembles every issue from the articles that arrived since the last one.

Sources from your account

Use a feed, a folder, a tag, your saved articles or a Team channel, or combine several in one issue.

Two templates

The simple template is a clean list with a header and a footer. The custom template opens a drag-and-drop editor with sections, text, buttons, images and a preview for desktop and mobile.

AI summaries

Inoreader Intelligence can add a summary to a section or to the whole issue, following the prompt you give it.

Review before sending

Upcoming issues are listed before they go out, so you can change a subject, reorder the articles, send an issue at once or hold it back. A preview email can reach you first.

Create a digest

  1. Open Automate, then Email digests, and click Create digest. Name the digest and set its subject, with placeholders for the date if you like.
  2. Choose the simple template with one source, or choose the custom template and build the layout in the editor from your feeds, folders, tags and Team channels.
  3. Add the recipients and the schedule. Turn on the preview email if you want to see each issue first.
  4. From the digest's dashboard, manage the upcoming issues and the digest itself, including its recipients, schedule and layout. You can also clone or pause the digest there.

Use cases

A weekly briefing for the team

Combine your monitoring feeds and your industry folder into a summarized digest that goes out every Monday morning to people who will never open a feed reader.

Client reporting

Create a digest for each client from a tag, with your agency's logo, and let the account manager preview it before it goes out.

Your own morning email

Have your must-read folder delivered to your inbox at 7 a.m., so you still do the reading on the days you do not open Inoreader.

Recipients stay in control

Recipients accept an invitation before the first issue and can unsubscribe themselves at any time. Every sent issue keeps its log, so you can see what went out and when.

Frequently asked questions

What can a digest contain?

A digest can contain articles from any feed, folder, tag, saved list or Team channel, several of them in one digest, with text, buttons, images and dividers between them. The simple template takes one source with a header and a footer. With the custom template, you lay out the digest block by block in the editor.

How often is it sent?

It is sent on the schedule you set, at the time you choose. The upcoming issues are listed in advance, so you can change a subject, reorder the articles, send an issue at once or hold it back.

Who can receive it?

Anyone with an email address can receive it, including colleagues, clients, a mailing list or yourself. Recipients get an invitation to accept and can unsubscribe from any issue. Inoreader warns you when a scheduled digest has no recipients.

Can it summarize the articles?

Yes. Inoreader Intelligence writes a summary for a section or for the whole issue, using a prompt of your choice, so the email reads as a briefing rather than a list of links.

Can I see an issue before it goes out?

Yes. You can preview every issue for desktop and mobile, and you can ask for a preview email a while before the scheduled delivery.

Which plan do I need?

Email digests are included in Team plans, where admins create them and every member can see them. They are also available as an add-on to Custom plans.
