Publish the articles you collect as a feed or on your site
Every folder, tag, saved list and Team channel can become an RSS or JSON feed for other tools and readers, or an HTML clip that shows your picks on your own site.
See pricing- ProOutput feeds and HTML clips are part of the Pro plan.
Share your folders and tags as feeds
Switch Export on for a folder, a tag, your saved articles, your broadcasted articles or a Team channel, and what you collected can be read outside your account.
RSS and JSON feeds
Each export gets an RSS feed, a JSON feed and an OPML file of its feeds. Any reader or tool can follow them, from a colleague's Inoreader to a Slack feed app or an automation platform.
HTML clips
A clip shows the latest articles on your own page, with your title, logo, colors and fonts.
Feeds filled by rules
A rule tags every article that matches a topic, and the tag's feed carries exactly those articles, refreshed every 30 minutes.
Your own picks
With broadcasting, you publish the articles you choose, each with a comment, as a public feed and a clip.
Export a folder or a tag
- Right-click a folder or a tag in the sidebar and open its information. You can also find it in Preferences, under Feeds.
- Switch Export on. The RSS, JSON, OPML and HTML clip options appear with their addresses.
- Share the RSS or JSON address with the tools and people that should read it, or copy the clip's code and style it for your page.
- To stop the feed, switch Export off. The address stops answering at once.
Use cases
A curated feed for a team
Let a rule fill a tag and export the tag as RSS. Everyone can follow it in their own reader, or you can post it to a Slack channel.
News on a website
Put an HTML clip of a folder of industry sources on a company intranet or a community site, and it keeps itself up to date.
Moving content between tools
Connect a folder's JSON feed to a newsletter tool, or to an automation that publishes your picks to social media.
Turn an export off at any time
Switch Export off, and the feed's address stops answering at once. Nothing you collected is deleted, and you can switch it on again later.
Frequently asked questions
What can become an output feed?
Any folder or tag can, and so can your read-later list, your saved web pages, your broadcasted articles and a Team channel. Each one gets its own RSS and JSON address, an OPML file of the folder's feeds and an HTML clip.
What is an HTML clip?
An HTML clip is a small piece of code that shows the latest articles of a folder or a tag on your own website, portal or intranet. You set its title, logo, colors, width and font size in Inoreader to match the page it sits on, and it updates on its own.
How fresh is an output feed?
It is refreshed every 30 minutes. If you need anything faster, the API reads your account live.
How do I turn it on?
Right-click the folder or tag, open its information and switch Export on. The dialog then shows the RSS, JSON, OPML and HTML clip options with their addresses. You can switch Export off again at any time, and the feed stops.
Can rules fill an output feed?
Yes. When a rule tags matching articles, the tag's output feed becomes a curated, filtered feed of its own, with no manual work after the setup.
Who can read it?
Anyone who has the address can read it, whether that is a colleague's feed reader, a website, a Slack feed app, Zapier or a newsletter tool. Switch Export off to stop it.
