Hello! I'm a Biology major currently using the free versions of ChatGPT (occasionally getting access to GPT-4o before it reverts to another model) and Claude (3.5 Sonnet is currently the free version). I don't use these for coding - I mainly feed them large PowerPoint presentations + large 20 page textbook chapters from my courses to create simplified...
First post here, and I'm not a tech bro, just a normal human with a job in the U.S. I am more likely than most in my field to be an early adopter of tech, and I'm having a lot of fun thinking of ways to use AI to do my job better. Right now, some of it feels like magic tricks because the new hasn't worn off, and people who don't use AI at all wonder...
A while ago I got obsessive about philosophical stuff again and wound up reading this article, in particular this section drew my attention (emphasis mine): Land once politely called me a monkey socialist for saying we needed to make sure the whole system continues to serve human purposes. To him, such proposals are just a futile drag on the process...
