What is the Archive?
The Archive, under Saved > Archive, holds the saved articles you finished and want to keep. Click Archive on an article in Read later, press E, or answer Archive when Inoreader says you finished it, and the article leaves your reading list and stays in the Archive, with its reading progress, until you delete it or restore it to Read later.
It's your own collection and is separate from the history of your feeds: Inoreader keeps the articles of every feed you follow whether you save them or not, and you reach those through search.
Archive an article
- Open Saved > Read later.
- Point at the article and click Archive, or select it and press E. The row slides out, and an "Article archived" message shows Undo for six seconds.
- Find the article in Saved > Archive.
The open article has the same button in its toolbar, Move to Archive, and Archive article in its menu. When you reach the end of an article, "You finished this article." offers Archive and Keep in Read later, and the Archive when finished switch in the progress ring archives it by itself, as Can I continue reading where I left off? explains. On a phone, swipe the row left and tap Archive.
To archive everything in Read later, open the More menu, the three dots at the right end of the header, click Archive all and confirm "Move 12 articles from Read later to Archive?". With Pro, the bulk bar offers Archive articles for the articles you ticked. An article is either in Read later or in the Archive, never in both.

The list
The Archive opens in the Reading list layout: a row per article with its picture, title, source, length and the date you archived it, grouped under Today, Yesterday, Earlier this week and the months before, newest first. An article you didn't finish reads "52% read"; finished and unopened ones carry no pill. The chips All, Finished and Unfinished narrow the list down, and the More menu holds the other layouts, the sorting (by date archived, source, length or progress) and the grouping (None, By feed, By date archived). Point at a row for Restore to Read later, the tags button, the menu and the delete icon, which asks "Delete article?" first. Restoring archived articles has an article of its own. Until you archive something, the list says "Articles you archive will appear here and be kept forever."
The header
Clear all asks "Delete 12 archived articles?", warns that the action is irreversible, and then removes every archived article. The search box covers your newest 10,000 archived articles. The Archive has no Add button, and its section menu offers Set as start page and Manage system folders, like the other parts of the Saved section.
Plans
The Archive is on every plan, as the feature page Save articles and read them when you have time says. Multiple select is Pro. The Archive is on the web; your saved list in the Inoreader apps is Read later.
